Letter from the President
Greetings to All, April 2013
It seems like we just kicked things off in September 2012 for our new season and now here it is April 2013 already, with our final luncheon of this season scheduled Thursday, April 4th.
It’s been an excellent Season for Brazos Section as our Leadership has dedicated so much of their valuable time and effort to helping our Section continue to bring value to our Members and Professional Colleagues.
We still have several events planned before closing out the year.
~ Golf Tournament April 12th (Perry Higgins)
~ Tabletop April 25th (Paul Rogers)
~ Membership Drive / Fish Fry May 9th (Wally Martinez)
Event Chair names are noted by each. If you would like more information regarding any of these Events, please feel free to contact any one of us with questions or please visit our website for additional details; www.isabrazos.org
As this will be my last letter I want to thank all of my fellow Board and Chair Members for their dedication to Brazos Section as well as let all of you know just what a pleasure it has been to serve. Thank you all for the privilege.
Going forward with the experienced and dedicated Leadership of Will J. Brooks, I believe Brazos Section will stay on course for future growth and continue to nourish our Brazosport community’s strong Network of Professionals.

ISA Brazos Section Announces Scholarship for 2013
ISA BRAZOS SECTION ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2013
Scholarship will be $2000 distributed over 2 years
The local ISA (International Society of Automation) Section which is comprised of automation professionals, instrumentation professionals and vendor support professionals have funded a scholarship to support career studies that apply to the automation & instrumentation fields.
This scholarship will be awarded to the candidate deemed most appropriate with studies clearly aligned for a career in the automation or instrumentation field. The scholarship will be to support an Associate or Bachelor degree, with a $2000 award distributed over two years ($500/semester) as long as the candidate meets qualifications.
Education is the primary focus of the Brazos Section of ISA and our scholarship fund is merely a means for us to give something back to the community that supports our livelihood. We believe this will have long term positive impact on the Industries that call Brazoria County home by helping Brazoria County people pursue a career in this growing field of endeavor. Education has been an ongoing commitment of Brazos Section ISA since receiving our Charter in 1979 sponsoring technical luncheons (8) months of the year, providing our Professional Engineers free access to Continuing Education hours.
For more details on the scholarship or general information about the Brazos Section of the ISA please refer to www.isabrazos.org.
